Rochford District Council want to highlight the ‘Good Samaritans’ from across the District who have been working to help our communities and individuals as the country continues to fight the COVID-19 virus.
From the Rochford District Community Response Hub, local churches and neighbourhood groups, to organisations like RRAV’s and Metrow Foods with countless more helping with shopping and support for our most vulnerable residents – we want to share your stories to give these people the recognition they deserve for their amazing work.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Community, Cllr Mike Webb said :“We learn about acts of kindness and community organised schemes every day and I would like to send my gratitude to every single person and organisation who is helping to make a difference during this crisis.
“If you are involved with, or know of, a project in your area or would like to nominate an individual for their kindness and support then please get in touch as we would like to continue to highlight the amazing work taking place via our #RochfordDistrictUnites campaign.”
Residents are encouraged to come forward and nominate someone who has helped them during the outbreak – it could be a volunteer, a family member or even someone who has helped ease loneliness by having regular phone calls to help brighten up the day. All you need to do is Tweet us or send us a Facebook message with as much information as possible using #RochfordDistrictUnites.
The Council would love to share your messages/stories and any photographs you might have – we do need permission to share photographs so would need contact details to arrange this.
