Vulnerable residents in the Rochford District will soon be benefiting from a local business’s pledge to help contribute to food parcels
Metrow Foods Ltd based in Leigh on Sea work with the Caring Foundation and they have been able to supply 100 meals, which are now being distributed across the District through local foodbanks and their charity networks.
The Caring Foundation is a privately run, family foundation created in January 2020. The foundation has brought together teams from across the hospitality network, including The Ivy Collection, to deliver a selection of meal options to NHS workers and vulnerable communities.
Local charity group Hopeworx took delivery of the meals and is now including them into local food parcels which help to support those residents in most need, and who have contacted the Rochford District Community Response Hub.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Community, Cllr Mike Webb said: “These food packages are key to helping sustain people during these difficult times.
“The Rochford District Community Response Hub demonstrates what we can achieve through coming together for the sake of people on a truly local level.
“I would like to thank all those involved for your generosity, dedication and for making a real difference to people’s lives.”
Janet Fox, Manager at Hopeworx says: “We are so grateful for the support of Metrow Foods and the generosity of The Caring Foundation and The Ivy Collection. We would like to very much to extend our gratitude to those that are making the meals and making it possible to supply those in most need with a healthy nutritious meal.”
