The Air League – Inspiring Young People Through Aviation

Air League Logo image

The Air League is a sector leading aviation and aerospace charity with a vision focused on changing lives through aviation. Its mission is to inspire young people by awarding scholarships and work opportunities through aviation.

The Air League, powered by the Department for Transport, is offering an exciting opportunity for Young People aged 14+ in Essex, to have an introduction to the aviation and aerospace Industries through a series of interactive and experiential sessions. The first of these will be an introduction to gliding, where the Young People will be provided an insight into the world of Aviation and have the opportunity to take a Glider flight. Following this, there will be an opportunity to take part in the wider Soaring to Success programme which includes virtual and face to face workshops as well as the opportunity for further gliding and flying in 2021.

In 2020, the Air League is launching the programme in Essex and are looking to offer a limited number of free spaces to Young People from select Voluntary Sector organisations across Essex. We would like to invite you to an online session providing more details about this opportunity.

The aims of the programme are:

  • Inspiring new experiences
  • Introduction to carerrs and the aviation and aerospace industry
  • Creating meaningful encounters with employers
  • Gaining new skills and building confidence
  • Employability and job readiness

The session is being held on Wednesday 29th 3-4pm via Zoom where more details will be provided and there will be the chance for a chat about the project and any Q&As.

If you think this would be useful/relevant to your group please contact Roger Savage to book your place.
