From Charlotte Britton, Strengthening Communities Manager, Wellbeing, Public Health & Communities, Essex County Council.
Please find attached the Essex Climate Action Commission Interim Report. We will be sharing this widely with private, public and third sector organisations, such as yourselves, as well as anchor institutions, business support organisations, local MP’s and some central government bodies. The purpose of sharing is we are keen to receive feedback on the report and recommendations made, as well as your thoughts on the part your organisation will play in helping achieve the recommendations and collectively reach our net zero target for Essex.
All responses should be directed to our climate.commission@essex.gov.uk email address. There is also an online link to the Interim Report, and we would encourage you to share it on your social media platforms; so everyone has the chance to respond. You can also see our work and feedback on the ‘Essex is Green’ Facebook page.
We are keen to engage the voluntary sector in tackling the challenges of Climate Change. Initially to capture your thoughts on the interim report as mentioned above. However, we want to go further than this and are keen to create a mechanism for ongoing dialogue, to encourage collaboration towards tackling climate change in Essex. A space to share the organisational commitments we can all make to achieve Net Zero, to make Pledges for change and share successes.
We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to have a voice in this important discussion, to comment on the report to climate.commission@essex.gov.uk and to start to think about The Pledges your organisation can make to tackle the challenge of Climate Change. We will be in touch with more information on next steps and look forward to working together towards Net Zero.
Kind regards
Charlotte Britton
