During lockdown Wyvern CT have been busy distributing food across the Castle Point and Rochford districts. Wyvern CT manager, Tracy Chapman & the office team have been supporting local food banks run by Yellow Door and the Salvation Army Training Farm collecting food donations from the local supermarkets & transporting it to them Monday to Friday. Once the food banks have the donations their dedicated volunteers pack the food parcels ready for the Wyvern team to collect that afternoon and deliver to people in the community.
The food parcel service operates Monday to Friday – Deliveries are made across the Rayleigh/Rochford District and Castlepoint Borough – This is a FREE service. On Wednesdays & Fridays deliveries are made within Rayleigh, Hockley, Rochford & Hullbridge – around 40 parcels are delivered in these areas each week at the moment. The office team have also been calling Wyvern CT members as often as possible to say ‘Hello’, check on how they are & have a short chat
Nearly all the Wyvern CT team are volunteering and are helping where they can
The teams are delivering to:
– Single people, couples and families who are isolating due to Covid -19
– Those who are isolated due to having no one close to help
– Vulnerable members of the community
– Wyvern CT members who need extra support at this time
– Members of the community who need support due to issues of the pandemic – loss of employment etc
