Rochford District Council was delighted to celebrate the long service of three Wellbeing Walk volunteer leaders.
Helen Boyd, Helen Fountain and Martin Terry were presented with awards to recognise their years of service, hard work and commitment.
Rochford District Council’s portfolio holder for commercial, business, local economy and leisure, Cllr Mike Webb, presented the awards to the volunteers.
Cllr Webb said: “It was wonderful to be able to present these awards to our amazing volunteers and be able to thank them for their years of service. The wellbeing walks, which I know are so popular with our residents, wouldn’t be able to take place without the dedication of the volunteers”.
Rochford District Council coordinates two weekly wellbeing walks:
Hullbridge – Mondays at 10.45am – Meet in the free car park on the corner of Pooles Lane and Ferry Road, SS5 6PA
Hockley Woods – Thursdays at 10.45am – Meet in Hockley Woods Car Park (pay and display), SS5 4RQ
These walks are a great way of getting regular exercise, meeting new people as well as exploring the picturesque routes.
There is no need to pre-book and both walks are free of charge.
