The Council has doubled the budget of its Platinum Purse scheme, set up to support community groups organising street parties to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.  The Council received a total of 61 applications from groups who will be marking the Queen’s landmark achievement with their own street and community celebrations.  The Platinum Purse fund was originally set with a budget of £10,000 in total.  However, because of the overwhelming demand, the Council has increased the budget to £22,550, which means we will be able to provide funding for all of the received applications.  The Platinum Purse programme is now closed to any further applications.
