Welcome
RRAVS’ vision is of a strong voluntary sector which is at the heart of a vibrant and caring Rochford District where people are able to fulfil their potential through voluntary and community action. The Rochford district includes the towns and villages of Rayleigh, Hockley, Ashingdon, Great Wakering, Canewdon, Hawkwell, Rochford, Barling, Fambridge, Paglesham, Rawreth, Sutton, Foulness and Hullbridge.
RRAVS works to promote, support and represent the interests of all voluntary and community groups in the Rochford District. This is achieved through provision of the grants and funding that is available, promoting group activities and events to the wider community, providing subsidised or free training to upskill staff and volunteers, publishing volunteer opportunities and supporting volunteer recruitment and representing the views of the voluntary sector with strategic bodies and local government. We are also developing our RRAVS Community Directory which provides useful contact information for a wide range of local services provided by our member groups and the wider community.
Rochford District Council will be consulting local residents and business to find out how local representation can be improved in light of the Government’s Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)

Rochford District Council seeks people’s views on improving local representation
The Community Governance Review (CGR) will ensure that all residents and stakeholders continue to be represented effectively by looking at the community governance arrangements in the area to decide whether they are working for the residents, or if they should change. They deal with very local forms of governance, like parish-tier councils or community and neighbourhood associations. FIND OUT MORE
