Rayleigh Windmill welcomes visitors back this spring

The award-winning Rayleigh Windmill is re-opening for visitors on Saturday, 29 March 2025. This cherished landmark, a Grade II listed building, invites people to step inside and experience its rich heritage, fascinating artefacts, and breathtaking views over the town and beyond.

Across its floors, guests will find a museum, an exhibition space, and captivating displays that bring the history of Rayleigh to life. The Windmill also provides insight into the fascinating past of Rayleigh Mount, adding to the depth of this historical attraction. Throughout the season, visitors will have the chance to enjoy a variety of inspiring art exhibitions, making each visit unique.

The opening hours of Rayleigh windmill are:

  • Wednesdays: 10am – 1pm
  • Saturdays & Sundays: 1pm – 4pm (Visitors are encouraged to check the Rayleigh Windmill webpage on Rochford District Council’s website for any changes due to private functions.)

Admission is free, though small donations are welcomed to support the preservation of this beloved site.
