New Specialist Counselling Service for Young People

A Specialist Counselling Service for Children and Young People has launched in Castlepoint and Rochford, Southend and Mid Essex.  The service is open young people aged five to 18 years (or up to 25 if in receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan).

The campaign is in response to an increased demand for mental health support for children and young people.

Young people will have varied experiences of the lockdown period. For some, it will mostly have been a safe and enjoyable time. For others, it will have been challenging or traumatic. Children may be anxious about returning to the classroom and the transition from home to school may be stressful. Some children may have worries about COVID-19, have experienced a bereavement, a change in family circumstances such as unemployment, friendship and relationship issues and bullying. They may feel very uncertain about their future.

We are asking you to support the campaign by cascading this information pack which includes posters etc to schools, children’s centres, youth organisations etc in the Castlepoint and Rochford, Mid Essex and Southend districts.

Please feel free to use the social media posts and images for your own social media channels.
