New non-emergency patient transport service

What is the non-emergency patient transport service?
Non-emergency patient transport is an NHS service that provides transport for patients to attend NHS funded hospital or clinic appointments. To use the service patients must meet the eligibility criteria which are based on medical need.

Which areas will the new service cover?
The new service is for eligible patients living in Chelmsford, Maldon, Braintree, Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rochford, Southend and Thurrock.

When will the new service be available?
The service is planned to be operational during Spring 2022
